Sermon resources with comments based on the thought of Rene Girard.
A resource for sermon preparation is available called Preaching Peace, which was added to this website in October of last year but is particularly appropriate right now. Jeff Krantz, an Episcopal priest, writes the commentary along with Michael Harding, a former Lutheran pastor.
The site authors say that one of our country's most popular evangelists (Charles Stanley) has publicly declared that the Iraq war is, in fact, a war that God condones, even chooses. They have added a page that responds to Dr. Stanley's claims.
Preach Peace features comments on texts based on the thought of Rene Girard. Girard has written several books detailing a literary theory on sacrifice and memesis and the role of the scapegoat which seeks to explain the fundamental basis of human interaction. Take a look; it's a very interesting perspective.
